Picturesque Prague

As I continue to melt in England during the "heatwave of 2015" I can't help but think back over our travels, especially those taken during the colder times of the year. We spent Halloween this past October in Prague. I had heard such amazing things about this city from friends and couldn't wait to go. I have to say, Prague lived up to everything that we were told. It was the most beautiful city that we have seen in Europe. Don't just take my word for it, if you ever find yourself in Europe make sure to stop in Prague, Czech Republic. Until you can make it there in person check out these beautiful pictures.

Prague is the city that we discovered food tours. What is a food tour you ask? It is only one of the best ways to experience all of the local food and meet fellow travelers. Our food tour, called Taste of Prague, was absolutely amazing. They like to keep their tour groups small, no more than four people but the couple leading the tour were about to get married and were taking time off for a honeymoon so we had six in our group. It was us, a Belgian couple and an Australian couple. It was so much fun and so much food! We started the tour by our guide giving us a taste our homemade liquor. We went to six different places and tried all sorts of Czech food, learning the history about it and getting to know our Czech guide. While we ate schnitzel and open faced sandwiches we discussed the politics of the Czech and how it is a mostly atheist country. We also learned "what a Czech keeps in his wallet." We had the opportunity to eat at a 2 Michelin star restaurant. This is something that we would never pay to eat at, which made it a great experience. We did this tour as soon as we landed in Prague at 11am and we finished at 4pm still way too stuffed for dinner.

Its  been a few months so my memory of our detailed itinerary isn't very good. Mostly, we just walked around the town. We did visit the castle and shopped around the little village in front of the castle. On Halloween we took a ghost tour which was neat. We also randomly saw people dressed up in costumes, however we didn't see them on the 31st of October but rather the 1st of November. I guess they didn't get the full memo but hey they tried. Enjoy some more pictures of the beautiful city.

We visited this church and graveyard on all saints day, people were decorating graves.

There is one main town centre of Prague and I couldn't help but photograph it. We climbed to the top of the clock tower and had amazing views. It was just so picturesque.

A picture of the castle. With a beautiful sunset.

This church was my favorite thing to photograph

We walked everywhere. Our favorite thing to do when we travel is eat and walk around. We walked across some cool bridges and apparently I rubbed a statue, for some reason, I am assuming it brought good luck. Or maybe I saw everyone else doing it so I had to.

Ah the gloomy days of fall/winter

Loved watching the fog roll in

We had a blast in Prague and as I continue to roast here in the UK without AC but temperatures in the 80s/90s I look back at these pictures and remember the "dark days" of fall/winter are coming. Even if wearing hats and coats seems awful right now! Prague is very beautiful and I am so glad we finally made it there!

Since I am on the subject of last November, a few exciting things also happened in the month. A new little baby boy was born into our Bible Study family and 2014 was the 100 year anniversary of WWI starting. In honor of all who gave their lives they planted a Poppies everyday  for each person that died in WWI until November 11, Remembrance Day. It was breath taking to see!

Meeting this sweetheart, Samuel Luke.

He has moved back to the states so now I live through pictures of him!

Amazing

November was another amazing month for us! We even hosted 30 people for Thanksgiving. Even though Sam got diverted due to weather and missed it we had a great time. Thankfully, we have amazing friends here who helped me pull off a Thanksgiving to remember. Thanks for reading! Cheers, bye!
