Year in Review

Wow! I can't believe we are at the end of another year! Every time the new year rolls around I tend to feel excited and ready to move on. Last year I was in full swing of wedding mode, so excited for January 14th that I could barely contain myself. Now that we are at the end of 2012 I am sad to see it go. 2012 was a year that I was saying and writing for many months leading up to it (as I booked venders and what not for the wedding) but it was also the year full of big life changes for us. I am blessed to have experienced amazing and happy changes in my life this past year. I would say the best part of 2012 was that Sam and I spent all but 14 days married!

While we are counting our blessings of a forunate year, I know that some people had a rough 2012 and cant wait to see it end. I pray that 2013 begins a new year that brings happiness to everyone and if 2013 turns out to be a hard year then I pray that we lean not on our own strength or understanding, but to our Lord and Savior.

But before we say hello to a new year, 2012 has been an amazing first year as husband and wife and here is a quick year in review:

We got married in January!
Traveled to Jamaica at the end of January for our honeymoon

I moved to Enid, OK and Sam moved out of his dorm into a real house on base in February

March brought us to Altus, OK where we stayed in three different hotel rooms

Did some hiking in Altus at Quartz Mountain in March, April and May before it got too hot

Spent our first Easter together with a sunrise service on a C-17 in April in Altus

Sam tried rattle snake at the rattle snake round up in May in Mangum, OK

I improved/learned how to make break including Ezekiel bread from scratch

Traveled to Albuquerque, NM for the fourth of July

I changed my hair while Sam was gone for a month in August because I got bored...who knows what Sam will come home too in 2013 after a two month deployment.

We moved to England in September

I enjoyed a cider with my beautiful sister-in-law in London...from being workout buddies in Springfield to meeting up in a foreign country we have become pretty good friends over the past few years and I am so glad they moved to England first, it has made things a lot easier as well as feel more at home!

Traveled to Greenwich in London during Septmeber

Paid out the wazoo to get this furry little creature across the border, but we have become a happy little family here. Buckingham Palace September 2012

Went punting in Cambridge in October

Visited the Ely Cathedral during the fall in October

I traveled back to America in October and stayed until the beginning of November after having quite the battle with Camploybacter (I totally misspelled it) but I got to see my besties and spend some quality time with my mom

Traveled to Dover England visiting the castle and the white cliffs in November.

Spent our first Thanksgiving together with some wonderful new friends we have met at the base

Moved into a cottage in England

Hosted our first English Christmas

Traveled to Denmark in December
Though we are sad to see 2012 end we are excited for what 2013 holds for us. We hope you and your family have a very happy new year! See ya next year!!

Love,
Amanda
